Here is a selection of published historical secondary sources
on single women compiled by Jenéa Tallentire. The
pieces are selected for thier attention to singleness and/or
single women, excluding works on single mothers (single
mothers have their own bibliography). The main periods and
regions range from medieval to 20th century Europe and North
America. It's comprised predominantly of Western sources,
which are divided into sections: historical, contemporary,
auto/biographical, women in religion, fiction and literary
studies, and historical primary sources. In addition, some
non-Western studies are included in their own section.
